Terms of Use

Ergo is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to your use of the app. The terms on this page supplement it with the parts specific to Ergo. Where they conflict, Apple's agreement governs.
The licence
Ergo is published by Joseph Ridenour and distributed through the Mac App Store. Your purchase or subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Ergo on the Apple devices you own or control, as set out in Apple's Standard EULA.
Ergo Pro subscriptions
What is free and what is paid
Browsing is free and requires no account: connecting clusters, watching resources, reading logs, and running server-side dry runs. A built-in sample cluster lets you try Ergo without connecting anything. Ergo Pro unlocks committing changes to a cluster — applying manifests, scaling, restarting, draining, cordoning, editing taints, evicting, and deleting.
Price and billing
Ergo Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or annual, at the price shown in the app for your storefront at the time of purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
Free trial
New subscribers are offered a 14-day free trial. If you subscribe before the trial ends, the unused portion of the trial is forfeited, as Apple's terms provide.
Renewal and cancellation
The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before that date. You can manage or cancel at any time in the App Store under Account Settings; cancelling stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
What happens when a subscription ends
Nothing is deleted. Your cluster connections, saved views, filter presets, and settings remain on your Mac, and Ergo continues to work as the free version. Committing changes stops being available until you subscribe again.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are governed by Apple's policies and requested through Apple, not through us. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases directly.
Using Ergo responsibly
Ergo changes real infrastructure when you tell it to. Applying a manifest, scaling a workload, draining or cordoning a node, editing taints, evicting a pod, and deleting a resource all take effect on the live cluster you are connected to, and some of them cannot be undone. Ergo shows a server-side dry run and asks you to confirm before it commits, but the decision — and the consequence — is yours.
You are responsible for the credentials you give Ergo, for the access those credentials carry, and for the operations you choose to perform. You agree not to use Ergo to access clusters you are not authorised to access. The permissions enforced by your clusters remain the real boundary: Ergo cannot grant you access your credentials do not already have, and it does not attempt to work around what your cluster refuses.
Availability and changes
Ergo is actively developed. Features may be added, changed, or removed between versions. Where a change would materially reduce what a paid subscription provides, we will say so in the release notes. Cloud provider sign-in and cluster discovery depend on those providers' own services, which we do not control.
Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ergo is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and we disclaim liability for loss or damage arising from your use of it — including cluster downtime, data loss, or deleted resources. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or affects your statutory consumer rights. Apple's Standard EULA sets out Apple's own role, and Apple is not responsible for Ergo or for any claim relating to it.

Ergo is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Kubernetes project, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft, or Apple. Kubernetes and other product names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
